Employee Matching Gifts Program
The Freeport-McMoRan Foundation will match employee contributions of $25 or more, up to an annual maximum of $40,000. The first $1,000 contributed per eligible nonprofit organization will be double matched and any amount above $1,000 will be single matched,subject to the annual maximum.
The date our match check is sent to an organization depends on when an employee request is entered and confirmed. The schedule below outlines entry time frames and the subsequent payment date per quarter.
January 1 – March 31: Match check sent week of May 31
April 1 – June 30: Match check sent week of August 31
July 1 – September 30: Match check sent week of November 30
October 1- December 31: Match check sent week of February 29 of the following year
Employee Volunteer Fund
Freeport-McMoRan is proud to support employees that give their time and effort to help those in need by offering funds to match unpaid volunteer hours served. When an employee volunteers a minimum of 25 hours a year with a nonprofit organization, the organization is eligible to earn either $250 (25-49 hours) or $500 (50+ hours).
The date our employee volunteer check is sent to an organization depends on when an employee request is entered and confirmed. The schedule below outlines confirmation time frames and the subsequent payment date per quarter.
January 1 – March 31: Match check sent week of May 15
April 1 – June 30: Match check sent week of August 15
July 1 – September 30: Match check sent week of November 15
October 1- December 31: Match check sent week of February 15 of the following year
High Grade Helpers Employee Volunteer Program
Freeport-McMoRan's roots run deep, as does the company’s commitment to creating a culture of corporate citizenship throughout its global operations. This is supported and fostered in numerous ways, including company-sponsored volunteer opportunities for employees and their families through the High-Grade Helpers program. The High-Grade Helpers program is designed to give employees an opportunity to apply their skills to help their communities grow and thrive.
High-Grade Helper volunteer projects include park clean-ups, food drives, STEM education mentoring, as well as skills-based activities. In addition to the ongoing volunteer activities throughout the year, Freeport-McMoRan mobilizes sites across the globe to focus on a specific focus area during the annual Global Volunteer Month – a program that encourages employees to unite in serving local communities through site-supported projects focused on a selected theme, such as youth development, health & wellness and environmental stewardship.
United Way Employee Campaign
Freeport-McMoRan partners with United Way and runs an employee campaign to raise funds for the United Way Chapters located in our operating communities.
