Freeport-McMoRan named to Corporate Responsibility Magazine's 100 Best Corporate Citizens list for the eighth time.

July 12, 2019

Freeport-McMoRan recently was named to Corporate Responsibility Magazine's 100 Best Corporate Citizens list for the eighth time after earning a spot on Forbes magazine's Just 100 list: America's Best Corporate Citizens and America's Best Large Employers.

The company's ranking of 92 on Corporate Responsibility Magazine's 100 Best Corporate Citizens list was based on 134 total corporate disclosure and performance factors in seven categories: climate change, employee relations, environment, finance, governance, human rights, and stakeholders and society.

To compile this ranking, information is obtained from publicly available resources only, rather than questionnaires or company submissions.

"Whether we are evaluated using publicly available information or responses to an established set of criteria, this type of recognition not only serves as a useful barometer for how some stakeholders feel we're doing, but it's cause to celebrate the hard work we do every day that demonstrates our good citizenship," said Bill Cobb, Vice President-Environmental Services and Sustainable Development. "Each and every employee contributes to our sustainability efforts, and all of us can feel proud of the performance record we've built together."

Corporate Responsibility Magazine is a business-focused magazine aimed toward promoting corporate responsibility practices. The magazine has been running the 100 Best Corporate Citizens list since 2007.

In 2019, Freeport-McMoRan was named to Forbes magazine's America's Best Employers – ranking second best employer in Arizona and 143overall – as well as its Just 100: Americas Best Corporate Citizens list.
